At Feu de l’Âme Beaucerons, each litter is carefully planned with the goal of improving temperament, health, and working ability while honoring the breed’s historic standard. Puppies are raised in a hands-on, family environment, where early socialization and exposure prepare them for success in both work and home life. My focus is always on producing well-rounded Beaucerons with the fire, stability, and versatility to thrive in the right homes.

Planning & Preparation

At Feu de l’Âme Beaucerons, each litter begins with careful planning to ensure the best match of temperament, health, and working ability. Prior to breeding, the dam is placed on a high-quality diet to prepare her for pregnancy, and her progress is closely monitored with veterinary visits to confirm pregnancy and estimate litter size. In the weeks leading up to whelping, the whelping room is fully prepped, sanitized, and made comfortable for both mother and puppies, and the dam is gradually encouraged to spend time there to feel at ease.

Early Care & Socialization

From the day the puppies arrive, they receive constant monitoring—including overnight—ensuring their safety and well-being. Early stimulation exercises begin at just three days old, and by the first few weeks, puppies are introduced to nail trims, crate training, and the Puppy Culture protocol. Throughout their time with me, they are exposed to a variety of sounds, textures, moving surfaces, and animals to help build confidence. Puppies also experience socialization outside the home with visitors, neutral dogs, car trips, and outings to safe public spaces.

Health, Evaluation & Going Home

All puppies receive age-appropriate vaccinations and deworming, a health check at around seven weeks, and are microchipped before leaving. Cropping is offered through an experienced veterinary professional for owners who choose that option. Before going home, each puppy is evaluated by a third-party assessor to help match them to the family best suited for their temperament and energy level. Puppies leave with vet records, a blanket carrying their mother’s scent, a bag of litter to continue potty training, and care instructions including diet, recommended toys, and enrichment activities. Every step is designed to produce well-rounded, confident Beaucerons ready for both family life and future work.
