Born August 8, 2024, Epic is the daughter of my foundation female, Zada, and Xerxes, one of the top working-line studs in the country. Her name, Être Épique, means “Being Epic” in French, and she is already living up to it. This pairing was designed to build on Zada’s natural ability by adding stronger prey and toy drive—and Epic is the perfect result. Of my three girls, she has the highest prey drive and an unmatched enthusiasm for work.

Still in the early stages of her training, Epic has already shown great promise in scent work, quickly picking up new concepts and following closely in her mother’s footsteps. My long-term goal is to develop her as a herding dog, though her intensity and confidence also suggest she could excel in protection sports if circumstances allowed. With her natural resilience, independence, and confidence, she is shaping up to be a versatile competitor.

Epic’s temperament is that of a bold and physical young Beauceron—aloof but safe with strangers, confident in new situations, and happiest when she’s chasing down a toy or throwing herself wholeheartedly into a game of tug. She is incredibly toy-driven, often bringing toys to anyone nearby in hopes of starting an endless game of fetch.

As she matures, Epic will complete her health testing and expand her training across different sports to find her best fit. Sweet like her mother but with her own fiery edge, she represents the next exciting generation for Feu de l’Âme Beaucerons.
